Holden: He's at his office.
Mom: Yes, he is.
Holden: He's at his Octagon.
Mom: That's really close, good job! He's at his Pentagon...

I re-touched this one--poor guy's got all kinds of baby zits!
I uploaded these videos the other day and figured I would devote a post to them. Fun times!
Cousin Laura hosted Easter brunch at her place and set up a super fun egg hunt just for Holden! He had a good time wandering around the yard in his Wee Squeaks picking up eggs and putting them in his basket.
I took Holden to Baby Loves Disco in April. Not the easiest thing to do as pregnant as I was at the time, but he had fun dancing around enjoying the music and bubbles!
Holden's language has been booming--I started writing down all his words and counting them and I've lost count! Speaking of counting, he can count (with a little help) from 1-10 in English and Spanish! Here he is making different animal sounds and counting.

Holden turned two on Saturday and his party was Sunday. It had been planned to be held at Burke Lake Park, complete with train and carousel rides, but the weather did not cooperate and we had to move it inside. Being five days post-partum, I wasn't in much shape to get the house cleaned up, so big props go to Christian and my parents for helping out, and cousin Laura for helping after the party! Here's Holden enjoying the train part of his cake--Mom made a fantastic cake! I'll have to get photos of it up!
Holden got a special birthday gift from Daddy: a tricycle! His legs are still a little too short, but he loves it!

Today's post *should* have been all about Holden and his second birthday--two years!! Wow! Happy Birthday to my sweet boy! However, seeing as how Holden's little brother decided to make an appearance a little earlier than expected (we think he wanted to crash Holden's birthday party tomorrow), today's post will be all about the newest member of the family...
Emerson James!!
Emerson was born on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at 7:23pm. Weighing in at a "bruising" 6lb. 6oz, he outweighed his big brother by just over a pound at birth! Everything about Emerson's birth was amazing! Turns out, I had been in labor all day at work, with my water broken and didn't know it! I thought my body was just practicing, until I realized that the game was ON! After picking me up from work, Christian sped home while I labored in the backseat with Holden. That was not a fun car ride, but I had my midwife on the phone with me, talking me through contractions. Whew!
We arrived at home at 6:30pm and things went into action very quickly! Less than an hour later, and after only 12 minutes of pushing, Emerson made his way into our lives--butt first!! He ended up being my breech Home VBAC! WOW! It was amazing and while the fast pace of it all made it a bit chaotic, I wouldn't change it for the world! Emerson and I are both doing great and having a blast getting to know one another! He's a champion eater and has now been officially nicknamed Piggy or Piglet for his fierce appetite and hilarious rooting! Yes, the timing with the Swine Flu is not lost on us!

Our first family photo! My parents came to pick up Holden just before Emerson was born, but because he arrived so quickly, we were able to have them bring him back over before bed to meet his little brother! He was very excited and kept saying, "Baby! Baby!" He touched and hugged his little brother very nicely! They are going to be fast friends!

Emerson's very first diaper! I had this made months ago and couldn't wait to meet whoever was going to wear it! It's a tad big...
There's lots more to come, but right now my little Piggy is starting to wake and root for Mama...
We also have a big birthday party tomorrow so we'll be posting those pictures soon too!
